<p>In the published article, there was an error in which one of the names in the group of lead researchers mentioned in a footnote was omitted.</p>
<p>A correction has been made to <bold>footnote</bold> number 2. This sentence previously stated:</p>
<p>&#x201c;The research is articulated with a larger research program led by Patricia Solis and Jean Parcher for the National Science Foundation within a set of national cases characterized by a range of public access, technologies, and governance configurations in several countries of North and Latin America, where the conditions and barriers to the adoption of crowdsourced data or volunteered-based methods have been observed within national institutes of geography.&#x201d;</p>
<p>The corrected sentence appears below:</p>
<p>&#x201c;The research is articulated with a larger research program led by Patricia Solis, Jean Parcher Wintemute and Nancy Aguirre for the National Science Foundation within a set of national cases characterized by a range of public access, technologies, and governance configurations in several countries of North and Latin America, where the conditions and barriers to the adoption of crowdsourced data or volunteered-based methods have been observed within national institutes of geography.&#x201d;</p>
<p>The authors apologize for this error and state that this does not change the scientific conclusions of the article in any way. The original article has been updated.</p>
