This will improve the quality of interdisciplinary teaching and research, while enhancing our reputation. Granting agencies and university administrators can then better understand what interdisciplinarity is and how it is best performed. I briefly describe the nature of interdisciplinary methodology. I show that we can already point to exemplars of excellent teaching and research.
