The method forms the joint Gaussian distribution function of shale facies and non-shale facies by synthesizing the petrophysical data of multiple well cores in the region. And the Bayesian facies classification is done for the seismic data. Finally, the new brittleness is obtained by combining the non-shale facies data with the Rickman brittleness data. The practical data show that the new brittleness can increase the difference in brittleness of different geological bodies compared with Rickman brittleness to highlight the target geological bodies.
